The Business Analyst is the key liaison between the business and IT for gathering and analyzing more detailed requirements from the business. In contrast to a Business Architect, who is concerned with the whole enterprise and works at a strategic level reporting to the business, the Business Analyst works at a project, i.e. operational level, and is usually assigned to a specific Line of Business, specializing in a specific business domain or capability, and often is part of the development team.
